Chapter 3 Discussion

Chapter 3 discusses the importance of the first few minutes of class for a student's brain and the problems with traditional "warm-ups."  Collins states that the opening minutes of class are "the most fertile time for learning."  Discuss what the first few minutes of class look like in your classroom and how you can implement the "success starters" to engage students in your lesson.
